Her theatre background gave her an edge and she stole the show without much fuss. The debut actress was the perfect foil for Vijay Deverakonda’s unbridled act inĪrjun Reddy. Ninnu Kori, which relies heavily on its three pivotal characters, Nivetha’s was a sure-footed performance. Once again, she proved she could be effortlessly natural and be a pillar of a film. Perhaps it has to do with director Vikram Kumar capitalising on Akhil’s strengths - an athletic personality and man-child like innocence - to give us a heart-warming love story, but it signals the arrival of a promising young actor who courts the camera with ease. Getting the Telangana accent right was simply icing on the cake. If director Sekhar Kammula took the leap of faith to weave a story around her character, Sai Pallavi lived up to it. Sai Pallavi nailed the part of ‘hybrid’ feisty Bhanumathi, rolling in unpredictability, innocence and a tinge of arrogance together. Definitely one of the most exciting actors in recent years.įidaa didn’t come as a surprise. He’s the backbone of the film and owned every moment on screen with his uninhibited work. But as Arjun Reddy, he put up an audacious, brilliant performance.
